A Trait That Gives Back

Maybe you don't know this but "FRIENDSHIP/UNDERSTANDING" is the theme of the after-school programs in schools this year. It comes as know surprise that LOYALTY plays a huge role in building both friendships and understanding. We look it from another perspective also -

Small business owners are people who live in our community and set up shop to make the quality of life more pleasant. So why not access their goods and services when ever possible? Buying local is being loyal. That said... consider what loyalty can do for you as a consumer:

• You build a name to face relationship with people.
• You contribute to local taxes which feeds back into public services.
• You can request certain merchandise or goods you travel elsewhere for.
• You save on fuel, time, energy.
• You become valued as a customer.
• You make a new acquaintance or friend.

Here are some helpful tips to build loyalty:

• Make sure the owner and staff know who you are.
• Tell them you are shopping with them to support their store.
• Take a few minutes to chat, share news, etc.
• Ask them if they can carry something you will buy regularly.
• Ask them to inform you of annual sales, specials, etc.

Loyalty works! It is the glue to consumer shopping and community growth. And now that you know what kids are doing after-school. You might be pleased to know that THE REAL CARD helps support character education for our children.
